The Martti Ahtisaari Institute

The Martti Ahtisaari Institute of Global Business and Economics at the Oulu Business School is currently involved in developing international education and research activities of the University of Oulu in a broad-scale international cooperation initiative.

The institute´s focus coincides naturally with the central issues of Martti Ahtisaari´s career, such as the various development challenges inherent in developing a networking and global economy. President Ahtisaari graduated as a teacher from the University of Oulu in its first year of operation in 1959. He is also an Honorary Doctor of the University. President Martti Ahtisaari was awarded the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize.
