RESEARCH
The Martti Ahtisaari Institute (MAI) is involved in developing research activities of the University of Oulu in a broad-scale international cooperation initiative. The Institute is part of the Oulu Innovation Alliance.
The research activities focus on challenges of sustainable and responsible business, as well as functioning of the global markets and economy as a whole.
The Institute hosts four research groups in the period 2013-2015 and offers an international doctoral programme related to the research focus areas.
EDUCATION
The Martti Ahtisaari Institute offers resources for three International Master Programmes. The programmes focus on accounting, finance and international business management.
Doctoral studies in the Martti Ahtisaari International Doctoral Programme centre around Global Business, focusing on Management of growth or Sustainable global economy.
In addition, the Institute provides two Executive Education programmes: the international Full-time MBA Programme and the Executive MBA (eMBA) programme.

An important part of the activities of the Martti Ahtisaari Institute is to facilitate open discussion on current issues related to business and economics and the society at large.
To this end, the Institute organises research seminars and different types of events that allow for dialogue, networking and collaboration among various stakeholders.
